When you plan a Wiltshire wedding, travel and accommodation are part of the guest experience. Clear information helps everyone arrive relaxed, on time, and ready to enjoy the day.
This guide covers what guests need to know, what to include on your wedding website, and how to make the whole weekend feel easy when you are getting married at CHALK.
Share the essentials early

As soon as you have your venue and ceremony timings confirmed, share the basics. Guests want to know the start time, the postcode, and whether they need to arrange transport in advance.
At CHALK, standard access begins from 9am and many ceremonies take place around 2pm. That means most guests will want to arrive with plenty of time to park, settle in, and find their seats. If you are also offering a church ceremony, it helps to spell out the order of the day clearly so nobody is guessing where to be.
Offer a mix of places to stay

The easiest way to support guests is to give them options at different price points and styles. Include two or three nearby hotels, a few local B&Bs, and at least one larger option that can suit families or groups.
For couples getting married at CHALK, it is also worth highlighting our nearby private stays, The Hide and Brambledown. They are typically booked by the couple and their close friends and family. They are offsite a few minutes by car, which makes them ideal for a small group who want something special without needing to navigate a long journey at the end of the night.
If you are arranging taxis, share local firms and suggest booking in advance. In the countryside, availability can be limited.
Make getting there feel simple

The most useful advice you can give is practical. Add a short travel section to your wedding website with the venue address, parking notes, and a clear plan for guests who are driving.
If you have guests travelling from further afield, include the nearest train station, typical taxi time, and a rough guide to journey time from larger nearby towns. Should you decide to arrange a shuttle, note the pick-up points and times. If you are not, simply saying “please pre-book taxis” can prevent last-minute stress.
If you are planning your wedding at CHALK, we are happy to help you think through guest travel, local accommodation, and the smoothest timings for your day. Enquire to check availability and book a viewing.
