Happy New Year!
The winter frost makes Chalk Barn look hauntingly beautiful, but we’re looking forward to warmer times with a raft of new wedding enquiries. Christmas time is always when a lot of people decide to get married, and the more organised of 2017’s Christmas proposers are already looking at venues! One of our more recent requests is for a prosecco station, where people can ‘pimp their prosecco’ with all sorts of fruits and flavours, and we’ll be offering this as a feature of our newly expanded bar area. Nigel has been building extra bar tables this week, having already finished hand-crafting the dividing screens for our main hall space at the end of last year.
This week we have also welcomed new member Lynn to the team to help develop our corporate events product. Lynn has a wealth of experience in events sales and will work with Rachel to launch an exciting new corporate offering to companies in the South West and the beyond. Chalk’s location offers far more space for various activities than the conventional hotel conference deal, and we will be showcasing these assets around the end of the first quarter of the year. Please get in touch with the team if you’d like to know more.
Lastly this week, we have partnered with Cheryl Parr of Earth Spirit Yoga to host a series of wellbeing retreats across the year. These retreats will include advice on personalised nutrition alongside other wellbeing workshops to help alleviate some of the most prevalent concerns of the 21st century from helping to relieve stress and anxiety to balancing hormones with natural solutions.
We hope to offer a wide variety of retreats in the future to help people across a range of issues, and we’ve been looking into local partnerships to bolster our offerings for such events.
