We’ve been waiting for a chance to showcase Chalk’s great corporate events potential, and finally we were asked to host a team-building day. We accommodated for 70 people, on behalf of a very familiar brand name with just one week’s notice. A challenge, but one we were well up for!
The day consisted of whole-group discussions and smaller group sessions, so we were able to utilise the bar area and the mezzanine room as well as the main hall, which we divided into sections using the screens Nigel made a few months ago.
One of our favourite local caterers provided breakfast and a two-course lunch, as well as delicious flapjacks and lemon drizzle cake for the tea-breaks. Rachel, who is of course slightly obsessed with high-quality foods, worked closely with the caterer to design a healthy, seasonal menu that would really help guests get the most out of their day and not just fill them with carbs.
We were also required to provide a comprehensive audio-visual setup for the day, with multiple screens and a PA system, so it was back into Rachel’s little black book of trusted local suppliers for the job. Thankfully our partner for the event delivered faultlessly.
We were delighted with the success of the day, particularly in light of the short notice and the demands that put on both the barn staff and our local partners. Our guests gave us wonderfully positive feedback, noting our remote location despite how easy it is to get to, and there were a lot of pictures taken of the views. We showed not only that we could host a great corporate events day, but that we could do it quickly if we needed to. And it’s given us tons of ideas for future events, and the types of packages we could create for all sorts of companies.
