Lockdown does not mean that you can’t get excited about planning your Wiltshire barn wedding. You may be feeling slightly overwhelmed about the prospect of planning your special day through lockdown, and you are not alone, but you can use this time positively, effectively, and efficiently to plan a fabulous celebration worthy of your love for each other.

1 The search is on

With so many couples sadly being affected by the current lockdown, venues and suppliers diaries in 2021 are being scheduled much farther in advance so this is the perfect time to research and lock down your date with venues and suppliers for 2021 and beyond before they are booked up.

While you may not be able to meet in person you can have virtual meetings with venues and suppliers to ask your questions and discuss your vision. Also, there are some fabulous offers out there for 2021 weddings at the moment so take advantage of these while they are available. Get in touch with us for more details on our amazing 2021 wedding offers.

2 The devil is in the detail

Nail your planning by catching up on your wedmin and those all important personal details.

Check your budget, organise your guestlist, write your speeches, put together your killer playlist, set up your gift list, and even practise your first dance. There is nothing like the warm glow of knowing you have everything organised and ticked off.

Create a spreadsheet or use a planning app to manage your budget, all your tasks, and guest list. We love Bridebook, it is free to use and has everything you need for stress free planning.

3 Refine your style

There is so much wedding inspiration on line, from Instagram to blogs, to our personal favourite for endless wedding inspo; Pinterest.

Whether you have a very clear vision or you are constantly swaying between Boho chic and industrial modern, creating Pinterest boards can help to narrow down and define the style of your day. Don’t forget to share these boards with your suppliers to help them understand that vision; they can also add to your design ideas with their experience and talent.

Check out our blog for some venue styling ideas and get those creative juices flowing!

4 It’s good to talk

We may be social distancing but that does not mean we have to be socially distant.

Get together with your wedding squad on zoom and chat all things wedding over drinks, catch up with family over Facetime for updates, and keep in touch with your suppliers over Skype.

With so many platforms to choose from planning your wedding from home as never been easier.

5 Relax!

Finally, make sure to take some time for yourselves and relax.

Read a book, go for a walk, enjoy a candlelit bath, or practise some mediation. Arrange a romantic “wedding free” date night and enjoy!

We hope you find these tips on planning through lockdown useful. Our team of wedding experts are always on-hand throughout the planning process, promising a stress-free, flawless experience for your Chalk Barn wedding. Get planning and call us today!
