Where can we actually get married?
One of the most important factors when choosing a wedding venue in Wiltshire is whether or not they’re licensed to perform civil ceremonies. If you want to actually marry there on the day, rather than holding a blessing, you’ll need a venue that is.
But there’s more to it than that, because only certain locations at a venue will be licensed for the big moment.
At Chalk, our dreamy garden arbour with jaw-dropping views over the Vale of Pewsey means you can marry outside. But, if the weather isn’t on your side, our glazed wall means you get the same magnificent setting if you tie the knot in the barn, too.
How many guests can we invite?
It’s important to know both the maximum and minimum numbers for this. At Chalk Barn, we can happily host 100 people for your ceremony and up to 200 for the party.
Watch out for some wedding venues that have a minimum number of guests – this means you may not be able to have an intimate wedding, or that you’ll be charged for guests you don’t have.
Is there a quieter space for guests to use?
